Remember to inspect your equipment EVERY TIME. Your life depends on it. Inspection Sheets are a great way to keep track of your gear. Get on the habit of filling it out every time you or someone else uses the equipment. Discard of any worn or damaged equipment and make sure no one else gets to use it as well.

Electronic record keeping is an excellent (and time saving) approach. Check out the iSafe System from DBI/SALA.
